At BDO Australia, our why is ‘empowering people, realising possibilities’. One way we bring this to life is by hiring and developing exceptional talent, to deliver on our wide array of audit, tax and advisory services.
About the Role
Want to kick-start your career while making a real impact? We're looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Advisory team and grow with us.
You'll work on meaningful projects, gain exposure to a variety of industries, and develop practical skills that will set you up for future success. Along the way, you'll be supported by a team that genuinely cares about your development and wants to see you thrive.
As part of our Advisory team, you'll gain experience across a range of specialisations, including:
- Business restructuring and insolvency, helping businesses and individuals navigate financial challenges
- Forensic accounting and litigation support, including investigations, business valuations, dispute matters and court-related engagements
- Business consulting and advisory, supporting clients with strategy, performance improvement, forecasting, and growth opportunities
- Indigenous Business Advisory, working alongside First Nations organisations and communities to deliver meaningful outcomes
- Transaction support, including due diligence, pre-lend reviews, and business acquisitions
- Projects and infrastructure, working on major projects that support regional growth and development
About You
We're looking for curious, motivated people who are ready to learn and build their career in Advisory. You might be currently studying, recently graduated, or coming to us with experience from another field.
We are looking an individual with:
- A curious mindset and a willingness to ask questions, challenge the status quo and find better ways of doing things
- Tertiary qualifications or current tertiary studies. Business or Commerce qualifications are welcomed, but we are open to different disciplines and backgrounds
- A proactive approach to work and an ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
- Competence in their written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills
- A high level of attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- A tech-savvy and adaptable mindset, with an interest in embracing new technologies and ways of working
- An organised, professional, and driven approach, keen to build your career in a supportive environment
A pathway that works for you
There’s no single pathway into Advisory, and we’ll support you based on your experience, studies, and career goals.
If you’re an undergraduate, you can build practical experience while completing your degree, working part-time with study leave, flexibility, and support to help you balance study and work.
If you’re a graduate with less than 5 years of experience, you’ll have the opportunity to build your experience across Advisory while continuing your professional development. Where relevant to your role and career goals, we can also provide financial and study support towards professional qualifications such as the CA ANZ Program.
And if you’re coming from another field of study outside of the traditional accounting pathways, we’d still like to hear from you as to why you consider yourself suitable for a role as a problem solver and/or crisis manager.
At BDO (NTH QLD) you'll do more than just start a job, you'll have the opportunity to build a career. From day one, you'll be part of a supportive team that invests in your development, celebrates your successes, and encourages you to be your true authentic self.
You'll have access to mentoring, professional development, and real opportunities to progress your career, all while working with great people on meaningful projects. We also understand that life exists outside of work, which is why we offer flexibility, wellbeing initiatives, and a culture that supports balance.
Whether you're taking your first step into the professional world or looking to grow your career, we provide the opportunity, support, and experiences to help you thrive.
