What this job involves: The HSSE Manager is responsible for leading Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) programs across Data Centre. The role ensures compliance with local regulatory requirements, while driving a strong safety culture, effective risk management, contractor performance, and continual improvement across all business activities.

 

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement the HSSE strategy, objectives, and management systems for Site operations.
• Ensure compliance with Local regulations, environmental regulations, and corporate HSSE standards.
• Provide HSSE oversight throughout design, construction, commissioning, and operational phases of Data Centre projects.
• Identify, assess, and manage HSSE risks associated with high-risk activities, including electrical works, work at height, lifting operations, hot works, confined spaces, and commissioning activities.
• Review and approve contractor HSSE plans, risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
• Support contractor selection, onboarding, performance monitoring, and compliance management.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action programs.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews to verify implementation of HSSE requirements.
• Monitor HSSE performance metrics, analyze trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and deliver HSSE training, awareness programs, and leadership engagement activities.
• Support emergency preparedness, crisis management, and business continuity planning.
• Act as the primary HSSE advisor to management, project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional HSSE certification preferred (e.g., Industrial Safety Engineer, NEBOSH, CSP, CMIOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor).
• Minimum 10 years of HSSE experience in construction, critical infrastructure, data centres, engineering, manufacturing, or other high-risk industries.
• Minimum 5 years of HSSE leadership or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of Local HSSE legislation.
• Experience managing contractors and supporting large-scale construction or mission-critical projects.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, risk management, incident investigation, and contractor safety management.
• Experience with digital HSSE systems and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is advantageous.
• Fluent in Korean and English, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
