Ready to Lead the Technical Evolution of a Platform That Moves Health Data at Scale?

 

Why This Role Matters

 

Eligibility, rewards, claims integrations, onboarding, reporting: every member experience at Personify Health runs on data that has to be accurate and on time. As Tech Lead, you’ll set the technical direction for some of our most strategic platform initiatives while staying hands-on in the code. You’ll define engineering standards, guide modernization, and shape how data moves across the ecosystem that supports health and benefits for our members and clients.

 

What You’ll Actually Do

 

Set technical direction: Define architecture, patterns, and engineering standards for platform initiatives, and lead design reviews that balance near-term business needs against long-term platform goals.

Build data and integration systems: Design, develop, and maintain services, pipelines, and APIs that move data reliably across multiple systems, with a focus on performance, resiliency, and scale.

Modernize the platform: Lead initiatives that simplify architecture and reduce technical debt. Consolidate duplicated functionality and standardize patterns across the platform.

Strengthen production reliability: Establish practices for observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Lead root cause investigations and drive the long-term fixes that keep production stable.

Mentor engineers: Coach engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on problem solving.

Align across teams: Work with engineering leaders, architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to connect technical solutions to organizational objectives on cross-functional initiatives.

Untangle complex problems: Lead the investigation and resolution of technical issues that span multiple applications, services, integrations, and data flows.

 

Qualifications

What You Bring to Our Team

 

Education & Experience

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years as a technical lead or senior technical contributor
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams
• Experience in healthcare, benefits, wellbeing, or related regulated industries (preferred)

Technical Skills

• Backend development in Java, Kotlin, .NET, Python, or similar technologies
• Scalable APIs, backend services, and cloud-native applications
• Data processing, ingestion, transformation, and integration patterns
• AWS-based architectures and services
• Observability, monitoring, logging, and platform reliability practices
• Large-scale data platforms or integration-heavy systems (preferred)
• Platform modernization and architectural transformation (preferred)
• Event-driven architectures and distributed processing models (preferred)
• Developer productivity automation and tooling (preferred)
• AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows (preferred)
