Position OverviewJoin our team of leaders in electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing, engineering, & training. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a New Grad Electrical Engineer - Power Studies, Associate to join our team.  Shermco Industries is accredited by NETA and has one of the largest field services divisions in the industry.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities  

Electrical Engineering Studies: Perform electrical engineering studies, including power factor analysis, harmonic modeling, grounding analysis, short-circuits, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies for domestic and international projects. 

Engineering Design and Analysis: Provide engineering-related design, analysis, and studies. Design and troubleshoot protective relaying and controls. 

Field Services Support: Occasionally work with the Field Services team on shutdown, startup, installation, and maintenance projects. 

Customer Interaction: Interact with customers to gather critical information, review engineering plans, and maintain professional relationships. 

Hands-on Engineering: Be hands-on with the engineering and field service group.

Qualifications

Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a graduation date on or before December 2025. Prefer candidates with an educational focus in Power Systems studies. Field Work: Willingness to be hands-on and work in the field alongside our field technicians.Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EasyPower, or other power system modeling software is a plus.Communication: Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods, and effectively communicate directly to customers and co-workers.Experience: Knowledge or high level understanding of performing protective relay projects, short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, and power quality studies is a plus. Utility design experience is a plus.

Pay Range

CAD $70,000.00 - CAD $90,000.00 /Yr.
