About Strac
Strac is data security for the AI era. We stop sensitive data (PII, PHI, secrets, confidential files) from leaking through the tools employees actually use: AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot, MCP servers and AI agents, Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, browsers and endpoints. One platform for DLP and DSPM across AI, MCP, SaaS, endpoint and browser, with real remediation (redact, revoke, delete, block) instead of another dashboard.
Five years in, we're Y Combinator-backed and in production at 75+ mid-market and enterprise customers including companies like Databricks, UiPath and Crypto.com. We're an Anthropic partner integrating with the Claude Compliance API, and a Slack, Notion, Zendesk and Intercom partner. The founder is an ex-Amazon Principal Engineer who built Amazon's payment security infrastructure.
The role
Every Strac deal runs through a proof of concept. You'll own those POCs end to end, and your job is simple: get them to a technical win. You'll partner with our account executives from the first technical call through signature, then hand live customers off cleanly. You'll work directly with the CEO and the engineering team every day.
What you'll do:
- Run technical discovery with security and IT teams and turn it into written POC success criteria and a time-boxed plan
- Set up POCs: connect Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot), MCP, endpoints and browsers, and configure DLP/DSPM policies
- Own detection quality during the POC: review findings, dig into logs and model output, tune policies and prompts to cut false positives, and test the changes
- Run tailored demos, handle security questionnaires and architecture reviews, and present the POC readout to the security team
- Bring engineering in only for real bugs or product gaps, with a clean, reproducible ticket
- Feed what you learn into the product, and build the tooling, docs and AI agents that make every POC faster than the last
Who we're looking for
- 3+ years as a solutions engineer, sales engineer or technical POC owner at a B2B security or infrastructure company. DLP, DSPM, CASB/SSE, email or cloud security experience strongly preferred
- Genuinely technical: comfortable with APIs, OAuth/SSO, reading logs, and writing scripts or prompts to test and tune detections
- You've owned the technical win on mid-market and enterprise deals and can hold a room with a CISO or a skeptical security engineer
- Extreme ownership: a stalled POC is your problem to fix, not something to escalate
- Clear writer, fast mover, uses AI tools aggressively
- Former startup founder or early team member is a plus
Compensation
$100K–$140K base plus variable tied to POCs that convert to closed-won, plus equity. Remote in the US.

One 30-minute call with the CEO, a working session where you run a mock POC with our engineering team, references, offer. We move in days, not weeks.
