Description
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner to join their team handling New Jersey claims. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity ideal for a professional with a strong background in workers’ compensation who is comfortable managing moderate to complex claims in a fast-paced environment. This person will have the ability to work remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and evaluate workers’ compensation claims from initial report through resolution
- Investigate claims, determine compensability, and establish appropriate reserves
- Negotiate settlements and authorize payments within delegated authority
- Ensure compliance with New Jersey workers’ compensation laws and internal guidelines
- Communicate effectively with injured workers, employers, medical providers, and legal counsel
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim documentation and provide regular status updates
- Coordinate with defense counsel and attend hearings, mediations, or depositions as needed
Qualifications:

3 – 5+ years of experience handling New Jersey Workers’ Compensation claims
- Prior experience with an Insurance Carrier or TPA required

Active New Jersey Adjuster License preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or related field preferred
Salary / Benefits:

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour (based on experience) with opportunity for permanent conversion
