2. JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

The Workshop Production Planner is responsible for overall workshop-level production planning, control, and performance management for shipbuilding projects across Zones B & C. The role provides planning leadership and governance, ensuring that detailed plans developed by Senior Engineers are fully aligned with master schedules, capacity constraints, and production strategy. The position acts as the single point of accountability for workshop production plans, progress reporting accuracy, resource leveling, and schedule recovery actions, while coordinating closely with Operations, Project Management, Engineering, and Subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of shipbuilding milestones.
3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Planning Leadership & Governance · Own and govern workshop-level production schedules from bidding through project close-out. · Review, validate, and approve detailed schedules prepared by Senior Engineers and Planners. · Ensure alignment between Master Schedule, Look-Ahead Plans, and daily/weekly workshop
execution. 2. Production Control & Performance Management
· Monitor overall workshop production progress and identify deviations, bottlenecks, and productivity risks.
· Lead schedule recovery and mitigation planning, including resequencing and resource reallocation. · Approve and consolidate weekly and monthly production performance reports for management and
clients. 3. Coordination & Stakeholder Management
· Act as the primary planning interface with Project Management, Operations, Engineering, and Subcontractors.
· Represent workshop planning in Integrated Work Team (IWT) and senior coordination meetings. · Ensure subcontractor plans and accruals are aligned with approved production schedules.
4. Reporting & Decision Support · Lead preparation of Look-Ahead Reports, chair related coordination meetings, and track action
closure. · Provide planning inputs for management decision-making, including risk exposure, capacity outlook,
and forecast completion.

· Oversee effective use of Primavera P6 / AVEVA ERM for production scheduling, cost tracking, and resource management.
· Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, templates, and reporting standards. · Ensure planning practices comply with IMI quality, governance, and audit requirements.
6. People Development · Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and performance oversight to Senior Engineers and
Production Planners. · Support succession planning by developing planning capability within the team.
4. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or related field.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
Recognized professional planning or engineering certification preferred.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 and production planning systems. Strong understanding of shipyard workshop operations and fabrication
workflows. High-level analytical and decision-making capability. Leadership skills with the ability to challenge, guide, and approve
subordinate planning outputs. Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills. Strong problem-solving ability under schedule and production pressure.
Experience
Minimum9 - 12 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding or heavy fabrication planning.
Proven experience leading workshop-level or area-level production planning.
Offshore or onshore fabrication / construction experience (Shipbuilding / Rigs / MRO / Oil & Gas / Heavy Industrial Projects).
Languages Fluent in English (speaking, writing, reading)
