What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a Logistics Supervisor to coordinate and supervise shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities across our two divisions: Strong Hold (industrial cabinetry) and Utility Metals (light poles). In this role, you will be responsible for the daily movement, storage, and delivery of raw materials and finished goods. You will supervise floor teams, coordinate with carriers, and work closely with production and sales teams in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective daily operations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations for both Strong Hold and Utility Metals divisions, maintaining efficient material flow.
- Ensure proper and safe material handling, loading/unloading, packaging, labeling, and stacking of raw materials and finished goods.
- Lead, schedule, and support warehouse associates, drivers, and production support staff while enforcing a strong safety culture.
- Monitor floor shipping preparation, specialized packaging, order fulfillment, paperwork accuracy (B/Ls, manifests), and truck loading.
- Oversee the receiving process to ensure accurate purchase order verification, proper put-away, and timely inventory system updates.
- Review shipping orders and documentation to assign daily work, prioritize tasks, and meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Troubleshoot daily logistics issues and collaborate with carriers, production, and customer service to resolve shipping delays.
Identify opportunities for floor-level process improvements to increase warehouse efficiency and team productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in logistics or transportation, ideally in a supervisory role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to multitask and manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30-hour training completed – dock safety focus
- Lifting and rigging safely for loading / unloading
- RCRA hazardous waste training
