Description
Pfizer Corporate Treasury is seeking an experienced Treasury Operations Manager to join its Dublin-based team on a maternity cover basis. This role is a key position in the Dublin Treasury Centre and will manage a team of four colleagues responsible for money market, FX and derivative deal settlements, collateral management, custody instruction, reconciliations, monthly intercompany netting and hedging processes, as well as project support within Treasury Operations. This is a hybrid role (2-3 days per week in the office).
The successful candidate will have ultimate responsibility for the effective execution of daily operational processes, while maintaining strong control, compliance and stakeholder management across internal teams, external counterparties, banking partners and service providers.
The treasury group in Dublin of approx. 20 people provides full corporate treasury and in-house banking services to Pfizer affiliates globally. The Treasury Operations team supports all aspects of DTC activities and interacts with a wide range of Pfizer companies worldwide, internal stakeholders and approved global banking partners.
The Dublin Treasury Centre at Pfizer is widely recognised as a centre of excellence within the treasury industry, both locally and internationally. As an end-to-end treasury function, the team manages the full spectrum of corporate treasury and in-house banking activities, offering exceptional exposure to global treasury operations, strong collaboration, and ongoing training and development opportunities.
Main Responsibilities
· Lead and manage the Treasury Operations team, ensuring the effective daily execution of settlements, confirmations, reconciliations and related operational processes.
· Take responsibility for the monthly intercompany netting programme settlements and oversee the Treasury Operations elements of the monthly hedging process.
· Oversee money market, FX, derivative and securities settlement activities, ensuring payments are completed accurately and within required cut-off times.
· Manage collateral operations, including margin call agreement, collateral movement oversight and portfolio reconciliation activities.
· Ensure custody instructions, standard settlement instructions and related banking instructions are maintained accurately and in line with control requirements.
· Maintain up-to-date working instructions to ensure key treasury controls, regulatory requirements and internal procedures are adhered to.
· Serve as the main Treasury Operations liaison for internal and external audit teams, coordinating treasury audit requests, samples, queries and follow-up actions from an operations perspective.
· Oversee regulatory and end-of-day reporting requirements, including EMIR and DTCC-related activities, ensuring timely completion and appropriate oversight.
· Provide backup cover to Treasury Operations team members where required and coordinate cross-training, knowledge sharing and periodic rotation of responsibilities.
· Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, supporting growth, mentoring and a widespread understanding of Treasury Operations processes.
· Develop and maintain strong working relationships with banking partners, custodians, service providers and internal stakeholders, including regular engagement to review performance and resolve queries.
· Identify process improvements and take appropriate action to develop practical, innovative ideas that improve team efficiency, control and ways of working.
· Lead or participate in Treasury Operations projects and strategic corporate initiatives, including key step-plans and cross-functional activity with Tax, GBS, Controllers and Legal.
· Review and monitor bank charges, supporting quarterly sign-off processes to ensure charges are reviewed and minimised where appropriate.
· Oversee the purchase order process to ensure key third-party payments are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
· Support LEI management processes for the wider Pfizer Group, ensuring required renewals and related activities are managed within expected timelines.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
· Minimum 2.2 honours third level degree in Business, Finance or a related discipline.
· Six or more years’ experience in a bank, corporate treasury, financial operations or similar environment.
· Strong technical and digital foundation, with aptitude for banking and treasury technology.
· Solid understanding of settlements, confirmations, reconciliations, collateral management, netting, hedging and treasury controls.
· System knowledge of FIS/Quantum, Microsoft Excel, online banking platforms, Bloomberg and TriOptima is an advantage.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, provide clear leadership across competing tasks and maintain focus in a high-pressure environment.
· Strong project management skills, with demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement and cross-functional initiatives.
· Experience coaching, mentoring or leading others in a treasury, finance or operational environment.
· Highly motivated self-starter with a collaborative approach and strong relationship management skills.
