Description
Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities. Foster children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities. Communicate effectively with parents and staff. Follow all licensing regulations, policies, and procedures
Must be at least 18 years of age Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Must successfully complete all required background checks and meet Maryland childcare licensing requirements.
90-Hour Child Care Certification Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
Act as a role model by displaying positive and courteous behaviors that children will admire and want to emulate Maintain awareness of children’s needs Observe safety principles and work in a safe manner Organize and prioritize a variety of tasks in an effective and timely manner, for self and others Current certification in First Aid and CPR (infant/child and adult), or able to become so certified within 60 days of hire (current certifications must be maintained throughout employment) Occasionally lift, drag, and push files, paper, and equipment weighing 25 pounds or more
Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Weekends: May vary based on program and community center needs.
Classroom-based early childhood education setting. May include indoor and outdoor activities. Position involves frequent interaction and engagement with preschool-aged children.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a favorable background check and fulfillment of all applicable Maryland childcare licensing requirements.
