Position Summary

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for preserving the pristine appearance, safety, and functionality of Bal Harbour Shops. This role plays a key part in delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring the property is clean, well-maintained, and operating at the highest standards expected of a luxury environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of the property, including walkways, restrooms, landscaping, lighting, fountains, koi and turtle ponds, seating areas, and common spaces
• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor and indoor common areas, including trash removal, pressure washing, and spot cleaning
• Conduct basic repairs and preventative maintenance (e.g., pavers, drywall, faucets, toilets, doors, railings, benches, signage)
• Assist with minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks as assigned
• Monitor and report safety hazards, damages, or maintenance needs promptly
• Support landscaping and seasonal décor setup, including holiday installations and special events
• Respond quickly and professionally to tenant and guest service requests
•  Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in an organized and safe condition
•  Follow all safety procedures and comply with company policies and local regulations

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred (hospitality, retail, or luxury environment a plus)
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
• Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods

Schedule & Work Environment

• Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
• Outdoor-focused role with some indoor responsibilities
• Fast-paced, guest-facing luxury retail environment

Physical Requirements

Position requires frequent walking, standing, crawling into confined spaces, and climbing of stairs and ladders in both indoor and outdoor conditions. Must also have the ability to speak, hear, bend, balance, squat, stoop, kneel, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to frequently handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
