Responsibilities

The Vice President, Technology & Data Solutions will serve as a key partner to business leaders across the organization, ensuring that Berkley Accident & Health's technology platforms, data capabilities, and reporting solutions effectively support our strategic objectives. This role combines technology leadership, vendor management, data strategy, business partnership, and operational oversight. The successful candidate will help align technology investments with business priorities while ensuring employees have the tools and information they need to be successful.

 

This role will be based in our West Hartford, CT office.  We offer a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office; and 1 day remote where it makes sense to do so.

We'll count on you to:

• Own and manage relationships with the company's key technology vendors and strategic technology partners, while driving vendor accountability, performance, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and vendors to evaluate enhancements, integrations, and emerging technology solutions
• Partner with business operations to identify and execute a portfolio of AI and automation related initiatives
• Oversee database management, data quality, and information architecture
• Own and enhance reporting capabilities that support underwriting, sales, claims, finance, and executive leadership
• Facilitate prioritization of technology initiatives, balancing business impact, resource availability, and organizational goals
• Interface with Berkley Technology Support (BTS) on corporate related technology initiatives.
• Ensure employees have reliable technology tools, equipment, and support to perform their roles effectively.
• Support technology onboarding and operational processes for approximately 225 employees.
• Maintain a high level of service and responsiveness for internal technology support functions.

 

Qualifications

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 15 + years of experience in management, implementation and execution of various IT projects.
• Strong IT and data infrastructure capabilities.
• Familiarity with David Young System/Connexure, Salesforce or other database management systems
• Able to work with the IT management staff, suppliers, developers and daily IT operations.

• Familiarity with managing large technology vendor relationships.
• Experience leading technology modernization and business process improvement initiatives.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role include: • Base Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000 • Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus. • Eligible for long term incentive compensation • Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Wellness, Paid Time Off, 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plans. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
