In this role, you will provide subject matter expertise in the development and implementation of engineering governance that standardizes how projects are executed across our business units and regional locations in Canada and the United States. You will lead the creation and continuous improvement of governance documents, collaborate with diverse project stakeholders, facilitate training, and promote a consistent, fit-for-purpose approach throughout the project lifecycle.

• This position is not eligible for relocation / international relocation.

 

What You Will Do:

• Establish and maintain governance for engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle across Enbridge business units and locations in Canada and the United States.
• Develop, update, and harmonize procedures, standards, guides, deliverable templates, and other governance documents that support consistent project execution.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, optimize processes, and implement practical, fit-for-purpose governance solutions.
• Represent the Engineering Management Office at workshops, business initiatives, and stakeholder reviews, leading discussions and making informed decisions on proposed changes.
• Facilitate virtual and in-person training and awareness sessions for new or updated governance documents, tools, and applications.
• Collaborate with project teams and functional partners across procurement, contracts, project management, quality, construction, and commissioning while mentoring peers and communicating complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Pipeline, Civil, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 6+ years of oil and gas industry experience, including work on projects of varying types, scopes, and sizes.
• Registered member with APEGA as P. Eng. in the Province of Alberta. If in the US, preference is to have a PE.
• Good understanding the complete project lifecycle, engineering deliverables, and the interfaces between engineering and other project functions.
• Ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders across business units and effectively facilitate reviews, workshops, training sessions, and decision-making discussions.
• Effectively prioritize competing responsibilities, manage multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and take ownership of your work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate strong verbal, written, presentation, and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.

 

Working Conditions:

• Office environment.
• Minimal travel (<5%) is required.
• Valid passport to travel throughout Canada and United States is required.

 

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

 

Salary:

• Ranges from $100,000 – $140,000/year USD for U.S. locations based upon the candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
• Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
