We provide these services to federal, provincial, regional, local and Indigenous governments, to the forestry, energy, mines, petroleum, transportation and utility sectors, and to numerous regional invasive species organizations across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with wildlife habitat restoration activities, including tree planting, site preparation, erosion control, access management, and invasive species management.
• Install and maintain restoration treatments in accordance with project plans and environmental best management practices.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and restoration equipment to complete field activities.
• Conduct vegetation, wildlife, and habitat monitoring surveys using established protocols.
• Collect, record, and manage field data using GPS units, tablets, mobile applications, and field forms.
• Install, maintain, and retrieve wildlife cameras, monitoring equipment, signage, and other field assets.
• Document restoration progress through photographs, GPS mapping, and field notes
• Inspect, clean, and maintain field equipment, vehicles, trailers, ATVs/UTVs, and tools.
• Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Participate in hazard assessments and identify, report, and help mitigate safety or environmental concerns.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, field crews, contractors, Indigenous partners, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Represent the company professionally while working with project partners, landowners, and members of the public.

Supervisory Duties:

• Provide day-to-day guidance to field technicians, promoting safe work practices and proper field procedures. 

• Assist with coordinating field activities and ensuring work is completed safely and according to project requirements. 

• Communicate project progress, field observations, and operational concerns to the Wildlife Restoration Coordinator or Project Manager. 

• Support the training and onboarding of new field staff.

Other Duties: 

• Assist with project mobilization, demobilization, site setup, and field logistics.  

• Maintain organized field supplies, equipment, and inventory.  

• Support routine vehicle, trailer, and equipment maintenance activities.  

• Participate in company training, safety meetings, and professional development programs.  

• Assist with public outreach, volunteer events, and educational activities related to habitat restoration as needed.  

• Support forestry, environmental, reclamation, restoration, and other natural resource projects as operational needs require.  

• Perform other related duties as assigned in support of project and organizational objectives. 

Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements:  

• Basic knowledge of wildlife habitat restoration, ecology, forestry, and natural resource management. 

• Ability to safely perform field work and operate field equipment. 

• Strong data collection, observation, and documentation skills. 

• Proficiency with GPS, mobile field technology, and basic computer applications. 

• Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to work independently in remote outdoor environments and adapt to changing conditions. 
  

Experience and Knowledge Expectations:

• Basic knowledge of wildlife habitat restoration, ecology, forestry, and natural resource management.

• Ability to safely perform field work and operate field equipment.

• Strong data collection, observation, and documentation skills.

• Proficiency with GPS, mobile field technology, and basic computer applications.

• Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently in remote outdoor environments and adapt to changing conditions
• Diploma or certificate in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Conservation, or a related field preferred. 

• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered. 

• 0-2 years of experience in wildlife, environmental, restoration, forestry, reclamation, or natural resource field operations. 

• Experience with field surveys, habitat assessments, vegetation monitoring, and restoration activities is considered an asset. 

• Experience using GPS units, mobile data collection applications, and other field technology preferred. 

• Ability to work safely in remote outdoor environments and varying weather conditions. 

• Experience providing guidance or training to field crews is considered an asset. 

• Valid Standard First Aid with CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain). 

• ATV/UTV Safety Certification and Bear Awareness/Wildlife Safety Training (or ability to obtain). 

• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.

Other Preferred Requirements: 

• Experience operating 4x4 vehicles, ATVs/UTVs, trailers, or snowmobiles. 

• Experience with ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Avenza Maps, GPS units, or similar mobile GIS applications. 

• Chainsaw safety training and/or basic chainsaw operating experience. 

• Experience with native plant identification, invasive species management, tree planting, or habitat restoration activities. 

• Experience working in remote camps or on multi-day field projects. 

• Occupational First Aid Level 1 (or higher) certification. 

• Experience working with Indigenous communities or participating in collaborative restoration projects.
