At If Insurance, business area Industrial, we are around 350 employees providing tailored global insurance solutions to many of the largest companies in the Nordic and Baltic countries. We work with more than 200 fronting partners around the world, enabling us to insure our industrial global clients wherever they are. We are now looking to strengthen our Branch Office in Germany with one more Risk Engineer.

About the Role

In this crucial and demanding position, your primary focus will be on managing fire risks related to Property and Business Interruption insurance, along with some involvement in electrical-, machinery- and Natural Hazard risks across various industrial sectors. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk assessments and client consultations based on German and international standards, as well as participating in group development projects within the Risk Engineering field.

About the team

In this role, you will be able to plan and organize your work independently and in close cooperation with your local and European colleagues. You will be part of our global Risk Management unit consisting of more than 50 engineers, that is the largest unit in the Nordic Insurance Market. You will be part of the team and be working in a truly international environment.

Our Engineers work in close cooperation with our internal Underwriting-, Sales- and Claims departments. Together our focus is to support our clients in the fields of Property and Business Interruption risks, as well as risks related to Construction Projects.

Who are you?

You have strong proficiency in hazard identification and risk assessment skills, with an emphasis in any of the fields – Fire Engineering, Electrical, Machinery and/or Chemical industry hazards as well as large real estate risks. You work independently and proactively and have great analytical skills to use when conducting risk assessments and client consultations. You are a team player, and you have extensive social and communication skills. Understanding and knowledge of corporate risk management needs, national and international sprinkler standards and other loss prevention standards is a merit, as well as good understanding and experience in working with international insurance programs.

In addition:

  • You have a BSc or MSc degree in Engineering or related field

  • You are fluent in German and English. Other language skills are considered a plus

  • You have 5+ years working experience

Work location: The primary place of work is our office in Neu-Isenburg (Frankfurt), complemented by the option to work from home 1-2 days per week. A home-based arrangement may be considered on a case-by-case basis, but it is not the preferred model.

Travelling: Travelling within Germany and internationally is expected, to an extent of around 30-40 days per year.
