What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.
Make your impact
You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You’ll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that’s through engineering, planning or customer support. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.
What you’ll do
⦿ Communication: Act as the primary interface between manufacturing, sales, engineering, and quality teams to ensure smooth collaboration in producing specialty rubber products for the energy sector. Daily communication will involve addressing questions and coordinating efforts across departments. Success means seamless information flow and strong team alignment.
⦿ Technical Documentation: Review and interpret technical drawings to independently convert them into SAP processes, driving the physical fabrication of material requirements. Support and coordinate preventative maintenance activities by understanding shop equipment functions.
⦿ Quality Inspections: Perform physical inspections of new and used parts to verify compliance with technical documentation. Record findings to create quality control turnover packages and complete inspection test plans for customer orders. Manage welder qualification and equipment calibration records.
⦿ Sustainability: Lead the rubber lined refurbishment program at the plant level, contributing to Weir’s sustainability initiatives by determining refurbishment costs and promoting resource efficiency.
⦿ Travel Requirements: Minimal travel expected; primarily onsite at Elliott Lake facility with occasional coordination with remote teams.
⦿ Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
