Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the OCR, driving a mail pick up route, and delivering mail to the Post Office with a Single Axle Box Truck. 

This is a Full-Time benefitted position. Working hours are Monday - Friday, 11:00am - 6:30pm, approximately 35 hours per week. End time varies depending on workload.


Essential Functions

OCR OPERATION FUNCTIONS:

  • Daily operation of the OCR, including: feeding, monitoring, sweeping bins, quality control, computer operations, label mail trays, and stock supplies.
  • General maintenance and housekeeping of work areas.
  • Abide by all OSHA regulations and other established company safety policies.
  • Maintain prompt and reliable attendance.

DRIVER FUNCTIONS:

  • Safely operate company vehicles (such as vans or small trucks) for pick-up and delivery of materials on assigned routes.
  • Safely sort, load, and unload items for processing and delivery to the Post Office, ensuring all items are properly secured to prevent damage in transit.
  • Verify delivery documentation, including packing slips and delivery logs, ensuring accuracy before departure.
  • Provide professional, courteous customer service when interacting with clients, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicles, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  • Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and local regulations. 
  • Keep current and updated on mail and postal regulations.
  • In the event of an accident involving a company vehicle, employee is required to follow procedures as detailed in FCP Motor Vehicle Safety Program.
  • Communicate delivery status, delays, or issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintain prompt and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows required.
  • Must be focused and dependable.
  • Knowledge of the service/delivery area is beneficial.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card. 
  • Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.

  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, lifting, handling and moving items.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, push and pull items.
  • Requires full use of hands, arms, finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 lbs. 
  • Physically able to operate machinery. 
  • Frequent exposure to vibration, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. 
  • Works in a printing plant environment. Work with moving machinery and hazardous materials such as inks and solvents. Exposure to loud noises and moving mechanical parts.

 

Expected compensation for this role is between $18 - $20/hr, based on qualifications and experience.
