Echo Techs work within a sonography‑led lab, under the guidance of leadership with extensive backgrounds in echocardiography.We are currently offering a $20,000 sign-on bonus and $6,000 relocation assistance for qualifying candidates.

Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive and complex echocardiographic studies utilizing 2D, 3D, Doppler, and color flow imaging technologies.
Analyze cardiac anatomy and function in real time, recognizing, evaluating, documenting, and communicating abnormal findings and critical results to physicians.
Collaborate closely with pediatric, fetal, and adult congenital cardiologists to support diagnostic evaluation and patient care planning.
Prepare preliminary reports, complete required measurements and documentation, and ensure timely and accurate EMR workflow completion.
Provide compassionate, age-appropriate patient and family education while ensuring patient comfort and cooperation throughout the examination process.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to sonographers, providing guidance on scanning techniques, image optimization, and professional development.
Support quality improvement initiatives and departmental standards through participation in competency validation, continuing education, and performance improvement activities.
May serve in leadership roles such as Lead Echocardiographer, Quality Coordinator, or Technical Director, supporting accreditation requirements, quality assessment activities, operational efficiency, and best practices.
Assist with equipment management, troubleshooting, capital equipment evaluation, and collaboration with Biomedical Engineering to maintain optimal imaging performance.
Support transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) procedures in the catheterization lab, operating room, and elective study settings.
Rotate through inpatient, outpatient, and outreach locations and participate in call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and overnight rotations.
Maintain knowledge of applicable regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards, including Joint Commission requirements and departmental policies.
Participate in staff meetings and other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 10 years of inpatient and/or outpatient cardiac ultrasound experience.
Current ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential in Adult Echocardiography (AE) and/or Pediatric Echocardiography (PE), or CCI Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) credential.
New Mexico state licensure through the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program (NMRTT).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate of a two-year Allied Health training program in Ultrasound Technology.
Bachelor's degree in a health sciences field, including but not limited to Cardiovascular Technology, Ultrasound, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing.
Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound (Echocardiography) program.
Certification Requirement
Candidates who do not currently hold the ARDMS Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) or CCI Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) credential must obtain the required registry within 18 months of hire.
