Job Description:
About the Role:
We are seeking a Category Inventory Planner based out of our corporate office in Oak Brook, IL. The Category Inventory Planner manages the execution of the product life cycle within their defined categories. This may include new product launches, graphic redesigns, strategic and national transitions, and customer item discontinuations. The Category Inventory Planner helps create and execute strategies that align with internal procedures, maximize customer expectations, and minimize potential financial liability.
You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
- Manage key Product Lifecycle activities for new, transitioning, and exiting products in planning and cross functional systems. Turn operational inputs into business decisions; help drive action through defining risk and opportunities.
- Provide initial, ongoing, and final liability analysis for transition projects utilizing key planning systems and customer inputs. Drive conversation to adjust transition/exit plans where needed.
- Offer expertise in cross functional meetings on transition statuses and document status updates to maintain project momentum.
- Conduct monthly audits of category risk and costs to identify macro-opportunities for supply chain improvements.
- Utilize supply planning systems to provide real-time data and identify where data gaps exist.
- Host and facilitate monthly or bi-monthly review of transitions within category for category leaders, highlighting potential financial exposure.
- Build relationships with cross functional partners within the supply chain and across the organization including Growth Unit leaders, Sales, Commercialization, R&D, Finance, and Data Management.
- Analyze process needs and balance competing interests to determine the resources needed to meet objectives.

- The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $63,000.00 - 94,400.00 USD annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics and business or organizational needs. For certain roles, the successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary merit compensation award, bonus and equity pay. organizational needs. You’ll fit right in if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Statistics, Operations Research, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years supply chain, production scheduling, demand planning, or operations experience
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required (produce & maintain graphs/tables)
- Experience working in SAP and/or Blue Yonder preferred
- Strong analytical skills in synthesizing data to make effective data-based decisions
- Communication and presentation skills; able to articulate complex issues in a concise way to enable effective decision making with stakeholders throughout the organization.
