Job Overview
Reeder Distributors, Inc. is looking for a mechanically skilled Field Service Technician to join our Equipment Service team in Gardner, Kansas.
In this role, you'll travel to customer locations to inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automotive and heavy-duty vehicle lift equipment, including both in-ground and above-ground lift systems.
If you have experience working as a field service technician, automotive technician, industrial maintenance technician, equipment technician, mechanic, or in a similar hands-on mechanical role, we encourage you to apply. Previous automotive lift experience is strongly preferred but not required for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and relevant experience.
ALI Lift Inspection Certification is preferred but not required. Training may be available for the right candidate.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working with their hands, being out in the field, and having variety in their workday rather than working in the same location every day.

- Diagnose mechanical and equipment issues and determine appropriate repairs.
- Repair and replace defective parts, components, and systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
- Travel to customer locations to complete service and repair work.
- Communicate with customers regarding equipment concerns and completed work.
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable equipment and workplace safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including company service vehicles and customer job sites.
- Complete service documentation accurately and timely.
Shift and Schedule
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with a standard schedule of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As a field service position, overtime, travel to customer locations, occasional overnight travel, and weekend or emergency service coverage may be required based on business needs.
Location: 813 E Warren St. Gardner, KS 66030
Technicians will report from our Gardner location and perform service work at customer locations as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a team
- Verifiable work history in a related field
- Clean driving record
- Willingness to travel and work overtime when needed
