This position is onsite at our distribution warehouse located in Pleasant Prairie, WI

We are looking to add a Receiving Lead to our team to assist our supervisors in the direction of activities in relation to warehouse receiving functions. This associate will facilitate orders, work assignments, and instructions for daily picking and receiving to ensure time commitments are met. They will also coordinate all functions involving inbound material, as well as support supervisors in informational meetings as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Directs work assignments under the direction of the supervisor.
- Trains receiving and warehouse staff on new procedures and provides necessary guidance in the performance of work assignments.
- Responsible for and coordinates all warehousing and receiving functions to include inbound material, put away process, tracking of orders and related activities to meet required KPI (key performance indicators).
- Communicates with other departments on status of orders picked and inbound shipments.
- Verifies receiving documents for accuracy and completeness. Verifies and processes incoming shipments, including material, inventory accuracy, part number, quantity, label and/or any special description, and coordinates stocking of materials.
- Analyzes reports weekly to identify accuracy and discrepancies of product and materials and collaborates to resolve receiving issues.
- Reports discrepancies and damages to incoming shipments as appropriate to Buyer and/or Quality Control Supervisor.
- Communicates and cooperates with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the goals of the department.
- Promotes safety by following all plant safety rules, and reports violations and unsafe practices to the supervisor.
- Participates in housekeeping initiatives.
- Files documents in Paperwise as needed.
- Monitors the receiving email inbox and works to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Documents and collects receiving data for the warehouse supervisor.
- Performs all responsibilities of a receiving/shipping clerk as needed otherwise.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High school degree or equivalent. Minimum two years’ experience in distribution/shipping with at least three years in receiving. Prior lead experience strongly preferred. Experience with material handling equipment, forklifts, order pickers and RF scanners.
- Communication: Proficient in verbal and written communications. Ability to speak effectively with associates and in front of groups.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of issues timely. Takes initiative to escalate problems for resolution when needed.
- Ability to directly and indirectly supervise and effectively engage associates.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and focus on details with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
- Ability to work overtime and extended hours when needed. Potential schedule of 45 plus hours per week.
- Ability to multitask, take initiative, prioritize and adjust in a fast-paced work environment and make timely decisions.
- Ability to train staff and to effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Cross training in all areas of the warehouse, or ability and willingness to learn.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and work effectively with colleagues and vendors.
