Across nine locations throughout the Puget Sound region, Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health services since 1972. Schedule:  Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm.

Reports to:  Program Manager

Pay:  $31.50 to $34.77 per hour


 SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBLITIES: Serves as the primary contact with participants; responsible for screenings, evaluations, assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing individual, group, and family counseling.


 

EXAMPLES OF WORK:  

  1. Performs intake interviews/assessments for all MAT branches. 
  2. Travel to various locations may be required. 
  3. Ability to perform assessments via web technology may be required. 
  4. Coordinates the assignment of new recent intakes with the local SUDP supervisor. 
  5. Coordinates and communicates with Patient Care Representative to insure optimal intake and assessment scheduling. 
  6. Provides ongoing evaluation of individuals through the collection and synthesis of bio-psychosocial information from participants, families, referral sources, peers, and others as appropriate. 
  7. Complete and submit all BHO paperwork. 
  8. Demonstrates competencies that reflect current standards of Substance Use Disorder Professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes of professional practice. 
  9. Able to perform clinical work in an efficient and competent manner and works to achieve THS productivity and quality standards. 
  10. Able to work with diverse populations. 
  11. Maintains all participant files in a professional and efficient manner according to procedures outlined in the THS clinical manuals and consistent with applicable WAC (Washington Administrative Code), RCW’s (Revised Code of Washington), Federal guidelines, and CARF standards (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). 
  12. Attends and participates in supervision with immediate supervisor. 
  13. Must be able to maintain confidences and handle highly confidential materials. 
  14. Ability to be an effective team player.  Ability to work well under pressure.   
  15. Demonstrated leadership ability and must possess tact, integrity, and sound decision making. 
  16. Maintains a professional image within the community at all times. 
  17. Places professional ethics and integrity before personalities of participant, co-workers or the professional community. 
  18. Serve on THS committees as assigned. 
  19. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

As needed, may perform the other responsibilities of the Substance Use Disorder Professional: 

  1. Provides individual and group counseling services to individuals enrolled in programs at THS and/or its affiliates. 
  2. Serves as leader or co-leader of therapy groups. 
  3. Develops and implements treatment plans and concurrent treatment plan reviews reflective of the participant’s “voice”. 
  4. Ensures prompt, accurate clinical documentation including screening, assessment, intake, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, progress notes, letters, referrals, and discharge summaries of terminated participants. 
  5. Provides advocacy, case management, information and referral services, and wrap-around services in an outpatient setting. 
  6. Consult as needed with medical director, psychiatrist, ARNP, or mental health clinician on ongoing cases, screening, and treatment planning. 
  7. Assists in resolving participant’s issues, as they relate to staffing decisions.  Follows through on staffing recommendations for participants. 
  8. Establishes a working relationship with all probation, parole, and other court-related personnel as appropriate. 
  9. Possesses a working knowledge of drug treatment facilities and treatment modalities in King County and throughout Washington State. 

Requirements

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:  

  1. Associates degree in Social Services/Sciences or related field, plus two years’ experience in counseling, case evaluation and staffing presentations and record keeping OR Associate Degree plus three years’ experience in counseling. 
  2. Maintain Substance Use Disorder Professional certification per WAC (Washington Administrative Code) and possess the SUDP credential. 
  3. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in chemical dependency, family dynamics, and counseling. 
  4. Drug-free and out of treatment for a minimum of three years immediately prior to employment and no misuse of alcohol or drugs while employed as a Substance Use Disorder Professional. 
  5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  6. Computer proficiency required.
