Overview
Monte Rosa Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated scientist to help advance our existing DNA-Encoded Library (DEL) platform. We are looking for an individual with deep expertise in DEL library design, encoding strategies, selection technologies, and hit triaging, who is passionate about developing innovative approaches that expand our DEL capabilities and accelerate drug discovery. Working with internal and external partners at the interface of Chemistry, Biology, Data Science, and Biophysics the successful candidate will contribute to the design of next-generation libraries, optimization of selection methodologies, and development of novel DEL technologies that enable the discovery of high-quality chemical starting points for challenging targets. This contract will be for 12 months.
Responsibilities
Candidate Area of Expertise • Expertise in DEL library design, encoding strategies, selection methodologies, and hit triaging• Strong interest in advancing DEL technologies through innovative library concepts and workflows• Knowledge of DNA-compatible chemistry and approaches to access differentiated chemical space• Ability to translate DEL-derived insights into actionable chemical matter in collaboration with the Discovery Chemistry team• Scientific creativity, technical rigor, and a collaborative mindset• Strong communication skills to coordinate DEL-related activities with internal as well as external partners
Principal Duties and Responsibilities• Contribute to the design and evolution of next-generation DNA-encoded libraries• Develop innovative encoding, barcoding, and library design strategies• Evaluate novel DNA-compatible chemistries, building blocks, and library architectures• Develop and optimize DEL selection methodologies, workflows, and enrichment strategies• Help to refine NGS decoding, hit-calling, and hit-deconvolution approaches in collaboration with our Data Science team• Drive innovation in hit identification and validation workflows• Collaborate closely with Biology, Biophysics, and Discovery Chemistry teams to maximize DEL impact• Serve as a key scientific partner for DEL-focused CRO collaborations
Qualifications
• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry• Experience in DNA-encoded library technology preferred
• Strong background in DEL library design, encoding strategies, and affinity-selection technologies• Knowledge of DNA-compatible chemistry and library construction principles• Experience optimizing DEL methodologies and workflows• Expertise in NGS-based decoding and data interpretation• Publications, patents, or demonstrated innovation in DEL technology preferred
Additional Skills & Experience• Understanding of preclinical drug discovery, SAR analysis, and hit validation• Experience working with CROs• Familiarity with Spotfire, Prism, SciFinder, Reaxys, and PubMed• Knowledge of orthogonal hit-validation approaches (SPR/Biacore, FP, ELISA, enzymatic assays) is a plus• Interest in emerging DEL modalities and next-generation screening technologies• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
