Description
- High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of 2 years of optometry experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with computers; EMR experience preferred
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Obtain and accurately document comprehensive patient histories
- Review and update patient information as appropriate
- Accurately enter and maintain patient information in the EMR
- Follow established computer and documentation procedures
- Measure and accurately document distance and near visual acuity using age- and education-appropriate testing methods
- Perform pinhole testing
- Properly instill ophthalmic medications and understand indications and contraindications for dilation and corneal anesthesia
- Perform color vision and stereo testing
- Measure and accurately document current lens power using a lensometer
- Perform and document Amsler Grid and Schirmer testing
- Perform tear film and dry-eye testing
- Evaluate pupils and assess pupil responses
- Estimate anterior chamber depth
- Perform Tono-Pen tonometry
- Perform refractions
- Perform visual field testing
- Perform OCT testing
- Perform Lenstar measurements for cataract surgery
- Maintain knowledge of commonly prescribed ophthalmic medications
- Perform routine maintenance of ophthalmic instruments and equipment
- Complete required equipment calibration and maintain appropriate logs
- Stock examination rooms and assigned clinical areas
- Monitor medication expiration dates and maintain appropriate inventory
- Disinfect and maintain examination rooms and clinical equipment according to established protocols
- Follow EIU eye-drop inventory guidelines
- Basic slit-lamp examination
- Corneal topography
- Measurement of axial length using optical biometry or A-scan
- Keratometry
- Refractometry
- Provide high-quality, compassionate service to patients, coworkers, physicians, and vendors
- Maintain a positive, professional, and patient-focused attitude
- Demonstrate flexibility when accepting assignments and adjusting to changing priorities
- Meet established attendance and punctuality expectations
- Demonstrate dependability and consistently follow organizational policies and procedures

The salary range listed is the base salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to work experience, education, and/or skill level.
