Position Summary
Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an IT Manager at the Oklahoma City Convention Center.
This position will be responsible for the comprehensive management of all networks, phone systems, and related systems. The role includes the development and implementation of policies related to network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure, as well as analyzing resource utilization and developing strategies to optimize performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop network troubleshooting strategies to help reduce network downtime and decrease maintenance costs.
• Create strategies for upgrading network software as new upgrades become available.
• Stay up to date with new network technology and report to the executive team on a periodic basis.
• Supervise full-time, part-time, and contractual computing, network, and phone staff.
• Properly schedule staff to cover facility operating hours in an efficient and effective manner.
• Assign specific work tasks and monitor progress for timeliness and quality of results.
• Develop training programs that ensure all staff members are proficient in operating and maintaining computer and phone systems.
• Develop, implement, document, and maintain effective facility maintenance policies, procedures, and programs, including preventative maintenance on computer software, hardware, and phone systems.
• Oversee proper control and care of computer and phone inventories, supplies, spare parts, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare and provide reports and documentation including purchase request orders, department operating budgets, capital improvement budget projects, special project reports, recommendations, updates, and event reports.
• Oversee contracted maintenance agreements.
• Develop bid specifications and renewal agreements.
• Manage vendor relationships and related agreements to ensure acceptable quality and performance levels are achieved.
• Work with Event Manager(s) to facilitate client computing and phone system needs.
• Work with the Director of Event Services to establish pricing, billing procedures, and cost controls for these services.
• Oversee help desk activities to ensure the IT needs of users are met.
• Continuously monitor security policies and best practices to protect networks and users.
• Occasionally work directly with clients to determine their needs and provide proposed pricing.
• Attend department head meetings and weekly staff meetings.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all departments.
• Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Speak and understand basic English well enough to communicate with customers, supervisors, and employees.
• Maintain a cooperative, team-oriented attitude when working with supervisors and fellow employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
• Demonstrate knowledge of operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for anticipated events.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the methods, techniques, and procedures used to repair and maintain computer, networking, and phone-related systems.
• Be familiar with the principles and techniques of supervision, training, budget preparation, and purchasing.
• Possess strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Possess strong project management skills, including organization, planning, time management, and prioritization.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
• Possess any licenses, certifications, or training required by local, state, or national authorities for operation of equipment found in the facility.
• Read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and other related materials.
• Experience with Procore preferred.
• Meet the physical demands of the position, including mobility throughout the facility, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, and working from various heights.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
• Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedules while producing accurate results.
• Work independently and demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
• Maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered during employment.
Minimum Education & Experience
• Four-year degree with concentration in MIS, Networking, Security, or a related field.
• Four years of experience working with enterprise networks.
• Two years of experience working with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW).
• Two to four years of work-related experience in the public assembly industry, including stadiums, arenas, convention centers, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
