Position Summary

The Director of Global Medical Alzheimer's Disease, Medical Strategy will develop, implement, and execute disease area and asset-specific medical strategies. This role will represent Medical in strategic and tactical discussions and align strategy by fostering cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders, including US and WW Commercial, Research and Development, Global Drug Development, HEOR, Regulatory Affairs, and other global medical stakeholders. This position reports to the Executive Director, Alzheimer’s Disease Medical Product Lead, Neurology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead &/or participate in Medical Matrix Team activities and meetings, contributing to the development, planning, and execution of the Medical Plan aligned with disease area and product strategies.
  • Partner with stakeholders on medical activities including labeling, safety surveillance, scientific advisory boards, congress support, competitive intelligence, real-world data generation, and publications.
  • Serve as an internal disease expert, offering expert insights on the current trends in the pathophysiology, diagnosis, emerging treatment options, as well as unmet medical needs in Alzheimer’s Disease (&/or experience in Long Term Care) to inform key medical and business decisions.
  • Represent Medical Strategy in cross-functional matrix teams, contributing to the Brand planning process and collaborating with marketing, sales, value and access, legal, regulatory, and development teams.
  • Participate in Thought Leader identification, mapping, and profiling in an evolving environment with changing needs.
  • Engage with high-impact external thought leaders in Alzheimer’s Disease and/or Long Term Care to identify and translate key insights.
  • Establish and maintain interactions with external medical and scientific experts, clinical researchers, and academic centers to assess unmet medical needs and develop appropriate medical strategies.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the treatment landscape, including competitors’ plans, and translate insights into action.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and other matrix partners to communicate results from clinical trials, treatment guidelines, and other clinical data internally.
  • Support and drive BMS-sponsored clinical research activities, including non-registrational data generation.
  • Act as a core member of the brand team, collaborating with key stakeholders to craft plans that address market needs.
  • Collaborate with Commercialization & Access organizations to integrate medical perspectives into the commercialization process and ensure alignment between commercial and medical plans.
  • Serve as an internal disease expert, offering expert insights on the current trends in the pathophysiology, diagnosis, emerging treatment options, as well as unmet medical needs in Alzheimer’s Disease (&/or experience in Long Term Care) to inform key medical and business decisions.
  • Participate in decision-making relevant to selecting external organizations and researchers for research collaborations.
  • Completes all assigned SOPs and training within designated timeframe and adheres to job-specific SOPs and work instructions
  • Conducts business in accordance with BMS Values.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Advanced degree (PhD, MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD etc.) in a scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 9+ years experience in the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry. A minimum of +5 years of experience (either clinically or in the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry) in Alzheimer’s Disease and/or Long Term Care Setting.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the biopharma drug development and commercialization process. Experience in clinical research and development, or medical affairs in Psychiatry/Neurology is preferred.
  • Skill Set: Seeking a balanced combination of scientific and business acumen.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated strength in understanding overarching company goals, performing strategic assessments, and developing clearly framed choices and recommendations.
  • Global Experience: US or global experience is preferred.
  • Cross-Functional Experience: Experience working across a range of medical and/or clinical development roles is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Experience in analytics, particularly in relation to product launches.
  • Project Management: Experience in project and/or portfolio management with the ability to develop clear action plans and execute them.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build relationships, influence, and drive organizational engagement at all levels.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead strategically, drive performance, build alignment, negotiate, and collaborate.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, high-level negotiation skills, and the ability to resolve conflict constructively. Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • People Management: Proven track record of effective people management, including coaching, motivating, and development planning in a multicultural environment.
  • HQ based position with international/domestic travel requirement approximately 20–30%.

Compensation Overview:

Princeton - NJ - US: $207,490 - $251,433

The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. We determine starting pay thoughtfully – carefully considering the nature of the role, required skills, work location, schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance.

Benefits:

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, you may be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefit plans – including wellbeing support, retirement and financial protection benefits, and insurance offerings (medical, dental, vision, life and disability).

U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO), which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit, subject to manager approval, along with 11 paid company holidays each year.

Non-exempt employees, RayzeBio employees, and employees located in Puerto Rico receive 160 hours of paid vacation annually for new hires (subject to manager approval), 11 paid company holidays, and 3 optional holidays.

Depending on eligibility, employees may also have access to additional time-off benefits, including paid sick leave, up to two paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, and leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, or military needs. Eligible employees also enjoy an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
