About the Role:
As Executive Director - Research Excellence, you will be responsible for developing, modernizing, and stewarding our market research processes and cross-functional initiatives. You will be a member of the research leadership team and report to the Vice President of Research.
You Will:
Evaluate current market research processes across various commodities and propose, execute, and oversee comprehensive modernization strategies
Upgrade analytical tools and streamlines data ingestion workflows to eliminate inefficiencies and enhance internal data visualizations
Steward and steer decentralized, vertical-specific teams tasked with planning and developing new areas of coverage, ensuring milestones and research development goals are met.
Oversee the "Voice of the Customer" initiative for existing research
Act as a vital conduit between clients, research teams, and product management to ensure research outputs continuously align with customer needs
Own relationships with third-party data suppliers, interfacing directly to resolve outstanding service issues and ensure organizational needs are fulfilled
Serve as the key contact administrator for high-level third-party partners, managing complex contractual commitments and royalty obligations
Contribute to team dynamics to ensure consistent global coverage and analysis across all research verticals
You Have:
15 or more years’ professional work experience, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end research process
Prior experience working within commodity research shops (highly preferred)
Experience in managing direct reports & mentoring skip-level reports
Ability to identify and articulate core/essential issues within complex problems and deliver modernized solutions
Ability and willingness to establish and maintain trusted personal relationships at multiple levels with clients and data partners
Strong data visualization and technical tool management skills, with PowerBI, Spotfire, and/or Tableau
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems, Engineering, or Economics, related discipline -OR- post-graduate academic work in a technical field (such as PhD or master’s in data science chemical or petroleum engineering) -OR- equivalent work experience

Base Pay Range: $200,000 - $245,000
