This role requires strong people leadership and the ability to plan and delegate across a team, a
collaborative mindset, process focus, strong communication skills, and a hands-on approach to
ensure consistent training delivery and alignment with evolving business needs — including
knowing when and how to scale the training team for peak.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop the site training team, including Learning Leads and Floor Trainers
Set clear expectations, delegate responsibilities, and hold the team accountable to training quality and delivery standards
Anticipate staffing and volume changes and know when to scale the training team up for peak and back down afterward
Build team capacity and bench strength so training coverage holds up across shifts and volume swings
Training Delivery & Facilitation
Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions to certify and develop Learning Leads and Floor Trainers
Lead exempt leadership onboarding and exempt leadership training sessions
Facilitate training on new systems, process rollouts, and procedural changes across the site
Use creativity to design and deliver enhancement sessions and development opportunities for associates and leads
Provide mentorship, coaching, and real-time feedback to trainers and trainees
Maintain a consistent floor presence to monitor training quality and adherence to best practices
Training Coordination & Documentation
Design and own training plans for new hire onboarding and cross-training across all shifts and roles
Schedule and coordinate all required training activities, including onboarding, retraining, and procedural updates
Prepare and distribute training materials, visual aids, and equipment in advance of sessions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records using the existing training matrix or approved systems
Conduct regular audits to verify training completion, certification renewals, and compliance documentation
Track and report on total training hours, completion rates, and key learning outcomes
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with Operations to align training priorities with production goals, labor plans, and daily/weekly demand
Work closely with Staffing Agencies to forecast headcount needs, coordinate new hire start dates, and ensure temp labor is trained and ready to work
Partner with site leaders, the People Team, and internal trainers to assess training needs and implement aligned strategies
Support knowledge transfer to HR Generalists and other internal trainers on best practices, including Workday navigation and interview readiness
Collaborate with Network Support on special projects, such as acquisition integrations or decentralized training rollouts
Maintain and update the training matrix for all operational staff, ensuring accessibility for floor-level labor planning
