Research Fellow (Asymmetric Transition Metal Catalysis)

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow in transition metal catalysis at the Zhong Group. CCEB is a newly established interdisciplinary joint school under College of Engineering and College of Science at NTU Singapore. The Zhong group works at the interface of organometallic and organic chemistry to develop new generations of transition metal catalysts and reagents for novel organic transformations.

The Research Fellow will take on a significant role in conduct cutting-edge research in transition metal catalysis and organic methodology.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Conduct routine lab research and data analysis in asymmetric transition metal catalysis.

• Mentor junior researchers and teach organic chemistry lab skills, oversee lab safety.

• Present research progress in group meetings

• Organize results for publications.

Job Requirements: 

• PhD in organic chemistry

• At least 5 years of experience in synthetic organic chemistry and/or asymmetric catalysis as PhD/post-doc in advanced institutions.

• Solid analytical skills including NMR, mass spec, chiral GC/HPLC, polarimeter, IR, UV/VIS, etc.

• Experience in handling air-sensitive compounds with Schlenk techniques or glovebox.
