Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Platform Engineer. How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission: As a Platform Engineer with MTSI, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, automation, and sustainment of scalable platform capabilities across cloud-native and traditional infrastructure environments. You will help define and evolve the platform architecture, enabling development, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable, secure, and repeatable services. You will support the decomposition of technical requirements, assist with planning and prioritizing engineering tasks, and provide hands-on technical leadership across infrastructure, CI/CD, Kubernetes, observability, networking, and automation efforts. You will contribute to the development, testing, deployment, operations, and sustainment of platform services while ensuring solutions meet performance, reliability, security, and mission requirements. You will collaborate frequently with stakeholders across engineering, security, operations, and program leadership to align platform capabilities with mission needs. This position is hybrid, with a need to work onsite or remotely depending on tasking and mission requirements. Responsibilities : Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to: Help create and maintain IT related processes for planning, execution, and reporting to include: Azure Kubernetes Service deployments, Helm deployments, Istio integrations, Service Gateways, ArgoCD automated deployments, Docker Image building, CI/CD Pipeline deployments, Requirements management, Architecture, Integration, Verification and Validation, Transition, Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Cloud Technology Services, and Software Development Lifecyle. Embrace and champion Agile development processes and adopt modern workflows and practices while providing technical guidance to team members and coworkers on best practices. Write documentation for platform standards, processes, designs, and other required documentation. Help manage the interactions with technology vendors to discuss features, relevant architectural needs, etc. to meet ecosystem requirements. Help design and define system architecture for new / existing systems. Support and contribute to the implementation, expansion, configuration, compliance, security, operations, and maintenance of multiple technologies and tools to make up an entire ecosystem. Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code for Cloud services that houses the system. Qualifications Required: 10+ years combined experience working as a Network, Cloud, Security, Software, DevOps, DevSecOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineer. Experience developing design and standards documentation. Experience with technologies including Kubernetes, Kustomize, Helm, Docker, Istio, ArgoCD, GitLab, GitLab CI, Nexus, Jira, Confluence, Coder, Terraform, Ansible or equivalent/related technologies. Experience with common modern programming languages (Python, Go, C++, Java, etc.). Experience with Azure cloud services, including networking, storage, and compute. Proficiency with implementing and practicing GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps. Proficiency with maintaining lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters, infrastructure, and tools. Proficiency with utilizing enterprise CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in Linux and Windows Operating Systems. Due to the nature of the work, you must be a US citizen. Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Clearance Requirements : Must have minimum a Secret DoD Security Clearance. Must be a US Citizen. The pay range for this position in Virginia is $160,000/year to $210,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
