As a Fund Accountant you will maintain the financial accounting records of Empower Funds, proprietary and other portfolios in accordance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
What you will do
Reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers and other independent reports, including detailed reconciliations for cash, shareholder activity, and income accruals daily. Also includes accounting for futures activity, calculating variation margins, and making journal entries.
Calculate daily Net Asset Values including reviewing portfolio returns to benchmark expectations and reviewing security pricing. This extends to completing monthly benchmark analysis reports and assisting in completing performance calculation worksheets.
Perform detailed trial balance reconciliation monthly, reconciling asset positions to custodian records, and creating supporting documentation when necessary.
Communicate with and provide daily reports to sub-advisors, as needed.
Prepare various financial reports for reporting and compliance purposes on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual frequency.
What you will bring
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
In lieu of degree, 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a securities operations or accounting area within a financial industry firm.
Detail oriented intermediate MS Office skills (Excel) required.
