At Advocate Health, our Graduate Medical Education team plays a critical role in developing future healthcare leaders. As a Residency Program Coordinator, you will support an accredited residency or fellowship program by managing daily operations, coordinating recruitment and educational activities, and ensuring compliance with ACGME standards.

Position Summary

The Residency Program Coordinator for General Surgery serves as the primary administrative partner to program leadership, residents, and faculty. This role oversees residency recruitment, accreditation activities, resident records, educational programming, and program operations to support a successful training environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of an accredited residency/fellowship program.

  • Support program directors, faculty, and residents with program administration and policies.

  • Ensure compliance with ACGME accreditation requirements and maintain accreditation records.

  • Coordinate resident recruitment, interviews, rankings, onboarding, orientation, and graduation activities.

  • Administer ERAS, NRMP, and/or San Francisco Match processes.

  • Maintain resident and alumni records, evaluations, and compliance documentation.

  • Coordinate resident scheduling, training, leave requests, promotions, and verification activities.

  • Schedule educational conferences, committee meetings, and program events.

  • Monitor program budgets and assist with financial tracking.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of related administrative, healthcare, education, or program coordination experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Graduate Medical Education (GME) or academic medicine.

  • Knowledge of ACGME accreditation standards.

  • Experience with ERAS, NRMP, MedHub, or similar residency management systems.
