AltaGas - Director, Corporate, Midstream and Brand Communications
Reporting to the Vice President, the Director, Corporate, Midstream & Brand Communications is responsible for developing and leading enterprise-wide communication and brand strategies that support business objectives, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and enhance AltaGas' reputation across North America. This role serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and business leaders, providing strategic counsel on communications, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, and brand strategy. Leading a high-performing team, you will work closely with senior leaders across the organization to develop communication strategies that support operational priorities, business growth, organizational transformation, and stakeholder confidence. What You'll Do
Develop and execute integrated corporate, midstream, brand, and communication strategies aligned with business priorities and organizational objectives
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and business leaders on communications, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, and brand-related matters
Lead communication frameworks that support organizational growth, transformation, operational initiatives, and change
Lead communications strategies supporting midstream operations, projects, and key business initiatives
Partner closely with operational leaders to proactively identify opportunities, risks, and stakeholder considerations
Ensure communications effectively support operational excellence, regulatory engagement, community relations, and business objectives
Lead enterprise brand strategy, positioning, governance, and reputation management initiatives
Oversee executive communications, including leadership messaging, presentations, speeches, town halls, and key organizational announcements
Support consistent and effective messaging during periods of growth, transformation, and change
Provide strategic oversight of media relations, issues management, spokesperson support, and external communications activities.
Lead crisis communication and reputation management planning while providing counsel during operational incidents and business disruptions
Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, community partners, industry associations, media, and government representatives
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing communications team while creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
Establish communication and brand performance metrics and leverage insights to evaluate effectiveness and inform future strategies
What You'll Bring
10+ years of progressive communications experience, including leadership roles within corporate communications, public affairs, brand management, or related disciplines
5+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams
Experience supporting senior executives and advising leadership teams on communication, reputation, and stakeholder engagement matters
Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise communication and brand strategies
Strong understanding of midstream operations, energy markets, and industry-specific communications considerations
Expertise in corporate communications, executive communications, media relations, crisis communications, reputation management, and brand strategy
Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with the ability to influence senior leaders and build alignment across complex organizations
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate organizational priorities into impactful communication strategies
Energy, infrastructure, midstream, or related industry experience strongly preferred
