POSITION:
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Ebony E. Prophet-Bullock, Ed.D., is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
COMMITTEE ON SPECIAL EDUCATION
BILINGUAL SPEECH - LANGUAGE EVALUATOR

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have New York State permanent teacher certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled and must have a bilingual extension. New York State Licensure and Registration as a speech-language pathologist are required. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence is preferred. Candidates must know ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech-Language Pathology, Medicaid Regulations, and Federal and State regulations of Speech-Language Pathology. Candidates must have an application knowledge of various Speech Language assessment tools. Candidates must also possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
LOCATION: Central Committee on Special Education
DUTIES:
The Central Committee on Special Education Speech-Language Evaluator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing observations and consultations
- Administering Speech-Language evaluations
- Completing Frontline IEP input
- Writing reports required by the Committee on Special Education
- Assisting the CSE in the appropriate development and implementation of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Inputting Medicaid billing into the electronic management system
- Attending CSE meetings
- Consultation with other professional disciplines, vendors, parents, and school personnel.
- Any additional assigned duties deemed necessary and appropriate
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials, and evaluation of service. Personal interview shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Teacher salary schedule based on BTF contract
