Product Manager (m/f/d) - Pumps

Position Overview

We are seeking a commercially oriented Senior Product Manager (m/f/d) to drive the growth, competitiveness, and profitability of our chemical process pump portfolio.

This role is ideal for someone who combines a strong technical foundation with exceptional communication skills, commercial acumen, and a passion for understanding customers and markets.

The successful candidate will serve as a bridge between our customers, commercial organization, engineering, and operations, translating market intelligence into actionable strategies that deliver measurable business results.

This is a highly visible, cross-functional role requiring independent thinking, strategic judgment, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a global organization.

Ideally, the role can be based in Germany, Spain, or one of the Benelux countries with Focus on the EU Region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop deep knowledge of the global chemical process pump market, including applications, customers, competitors, and industry trends.
• Identify customer needs, unmet requirements, buying criteria, and factors influencing equipment selection.
• Build and maintain competitive intelligence on product performance, pricing, lead times, manufacturing footprint, and commercial strategies.
• Identify high-growth market segments, new applications, competitive risks, and opportunities to increase market share.
• Gather firsthand market insight through engagement with customers, EPCs, distributors, regional sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Translate market and business insights into actionable strategies that drive profitable growth and strengthen competitive positioning.
• Develop and execute market-driven product and portfolio strategies aligned with growth, profitability, and lifecycle value objectives.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and supply chain to improve product competitiveness, cost, availability, delivery performance, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead global product launches, value propositions, commercial enablement, portfolio optimization, and installed-base/aftermarket growth initiatives.
• Build strong cross-functional alignment and communicate clear strategic recommendations, business cases, training, and presentations to technical, commercial, and leadership audiences.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline, or a recognized European equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in product management, technical sales, business development, or strategic marketing within the industrial pump industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives involving multiple functions or stakeholders.
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations to technical, commercial, and executive audiences, other EU language is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish credibility and influence stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently, setting priorities, and driving initiatives from concept through execution.
• Intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated ability to rapidly develop expertise in new markets, technologies, and applications.
• Comfortable working in a global, matrixed organization with stakeholders from diverse functional and cultural backgrounds.
• Professional fluency in English.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, including internationally.
• Familiarity with chemical process pumps, including ISO 2858 designs.
• Knowledge of the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or other industrial process markets.
• Experience with both mechanically sealed and sealless pumping technologies.
• Experience developing product strategies, competitive intelligence programs, market segmentation, or go-to-market initiatives.
• Additional European language skills.
