Senior Manager, Regulatory Advocacy and Change
12-Month Secondment

The Regulatory Advocacy and Change team sits within Group Regulatory Engagement and forms part of the Group Regulatory Change function.
We monitor and shape regulatory reforms affecting the Group and financial services sector, engaging government, regulators and industry bodies to support customers and the Australian community.
We develop Group positions, lead advocacy and help the business prepare for emerging regulatory developments.
We work across the Group and with industry bodies, including the Australian Banking Association.
Do work that matters
Reporting to the Team Lead, you will help shape the Group's response to emerging regulatory and policy developments.
You will develop positions on significant reforms, lead advocacy and support engagement with senior stakeholders, government, regulators and industry bodies.
Your day could look like, but is not limited to:
- Monitor regulatory, policy and political developments and identify emerging issues.
- Assess proposed reforms and their implications for the Group, customers and the financial system.
- Develop Group positions, advocacy strategies and submissions on major reforms.
- Prepare executive briefings and updates on regulatory developments.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders, government, regulators and industry bodies.
- Represent the Group in relevant forums, working groups and consultations.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
- Experience in government, regulatory, public policy, legal, industry or regulatory change roles.
- Strong writing skills, including submissions, briefings, consultation responses or regulatory advice.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex issues into practical advocacy positions
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Clear communication, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience in regulatory advocacy, government affairs or industry engagement will be highly regarded.
- An interest in emerging technologies and their policy implications will be viewed favourably.
