The Indirect Services group in the Finance Services Division currently has an opening for a Global Technology Services Buyer, located in Sosnowiec, Poland. As a Category Buyer, you will assist our internal Business Unit customers globally with strategic sourcing, buying, contracting and spend analytics, and will have a demonstrated working knowledge of the Technology Services category, including IT professional services, software, SaaS, Telecoms, and Telematics.

This role is best suited to candidates with proven experience buying technology services and negotiating IT supplier contracts, rather than candidates whose experience is primarily in direct materials, manufacturing procurement or general supply chain operations.

What you will do:

Primary Role: to serve as the primary contact between Caterpillar and the supply base for global Technology Services sourcing initiatives, including filling the functional seat for commercial discussions/negotiations and contract negotiations with suppliers, being the recognized expert for his or her assigned portion of the global category and supporting the development and execution of global category strategies. Other key aspects of the role are as follows:

• Supplier Lead: Manage regional supplier relationships, including supplier relationship management, supplier performance management, cost management, risk management and category network management. Support the development, communication and implementation of global sourcing strategies, while managing policies, agreements, source catalogues and special procurement programs. Drive supplier performance, contract compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, innovation opportunities and total cost of ownership reduction.
• Leadership: Provide leadership for strategic sourcing, business continuity, supplier risk management, logistics, contract management, supplier commercial negotiations, cost/spend management, supplier onboarding/offboarding, lead/response time optimisation and resource management decisions. Lead continuous improvement activities within Purchasing, identify opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement, and ensure business proposals and risk assessments are sound. Mentor and develop other Buyers and Purchasing Analysts where assigned, while promoting the highest level of professionalism and business ethics.

• Legal: Draft, review, negotiate, and execute contractual documents including master consulting agreements, master purchasing agreements, master services agreements, and master cloud service agreements, statements of work, service level agreements, order forms, amendments, commercial terms and other contractural documents with technology suppliers.

• Strategy: Lead Technology Services strategic sourcing and supply base strategy development and execution for the Technology Services category portfolio. Support category strategies through spend analysis, supply market intelligence, supplier benchmarking and alignment with business requirements to deliver value and achieve sourcing objectives.

• Supplier Development: Collaborate with Suppliers and Business Units & Vendor Management Office to ensure continuous improvement with key suppliers. Build and foster mutually beneficial supplier relationships at all organizational levels.

 

You Will Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Purchasing/Supply Chain, Law or IT, or equivalent work experience in sourcing/purchasing for Indirect or Technology Services categories, with direct experience in IT professional services and/or telecoms and telematics .
• Demonstrated understanding of the IT buying landscape, including supplier commercial models, statements of work, licensing/subscription structures, service level agreementslevels agreement and KPIs, business and technology strategy/planning, as well as IT solutions, capabilities and project lifecycle.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating supplier contracts, including SOWs, service agreements, order forms, amendments, and commercial terms.
• Ability to engage confidently with IT, Legal, Finance, Vendor Management Office and Business Unit stakeholders.

• Effective communication skills, in written and oral form.
• Fluency in English.

• Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence decisions, build consensus and develop effective working relationships.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience using spend data, market intelligence and business requirements to support sourcing strategies.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Advanced negotiation and contract management experience, including commercial cost analysis and supplier performance management.
• Knowledge of technology services sourcing, vendor management, digital delivery models and emerging technology trends.

• Professional certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI.

 

What We Offer:  

• Salary: Gross monthly salary between 18,468 - 23,084PLN (depending on experience)
• Employment, based on contract of employment

Additional Information 

• The role includes up to 20% travel.
• This position requires on-site presence 5 days per week.

 

 

Base Minimum Pay:

zł221,611.00

 

Please note that salary is only one component of the total compensation and benefit package available at Caterpillar.

 

 

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
