Why this role matters

As our Senior Electrician you will perform Electrical work on the Plant that will include Modification, Repair and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment and Systems as well as switching, isolation, earthing and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level. This is a role for someone who wants to combine technical depth with purpose, learn in a fast-moving international business, and build experience in one of the world’s most relevant industries.

 

What you'll be doing

• Perform modification, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all plant electrical equipment and systems
• Execute switching, isolation, earthing, and LOTO activities in line with authorisation levels
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal plant performance
• Maintain PV arrays, combiner boxes, DC systems, inverters, transformers, and switchgear
• Perform LV and HV switching operations as authorised
• Carry out routine inspections of electrical equipment, instruments, and tools
• Supervise, train, and support junior personnel; act as team leader when required
• Monitor and evaluate electrical staff performance and ensure adherence to standards
• Complete reporting, documentation, and maintenance records accurately
• Conduct HSE inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Act as Appointed/Authorised Person on Duty (APD) in the absence of the Plant Supervisor

What you’ll bring

Experience and qualifications

• N3 Qualification
• Qualified Electrician and ORHVS qualification
• Registered 3 phase installation electrician (SANS 10142); not single-phase tester
• 6+ years Electrical experience – AC & DC electrical systems
• Proven experience on MV & HV equipment troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance
• Ability to take ownership of electrical systems on the plant
• High Voltage Switching and Solar PV Plant experience
• Maintain Transformers and Switchgear and Assist with reporting and perform various HSE related inspections
• Experience with HV Switching, Solar PV Plant & BESS
