Description

Overview

A busy professional family in Washington, D.C. is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive full-time house manager to oversee the daily operations of their approximately 6,600-square-foot, three-level residence. The principals are both attorneys with demanding schedules and are looking for a capable self-starter who can take ownership of household operations, anticipate needs, and manage projects through completion without requiring frequent direction or follow-up.

The family recently moved into the residence and is in the process of redecorating and completing several home projects. The house manager will serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, installers, vendors, and other service providers and should be comfortable representing the principals when they are unavailable. This person should be able to understand the scope of each project, communicate instructions clearly, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed properly.

The household also employs a chef, housekeeper, and childcare providers though weekday mornings would require assistance with their 2-year old daughter from the hours of 7:00am through 8:45am, including driving their daughter to a preschool program located two miles from the household. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the existing household team while maintaining clear systems, strong communication, and accountability throughout the home.

The family is especially seeking someone dependable, discreet, communicative, and trustworthy who exercises excellent judgment and handles household funds and confidential information responsibly. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced career house manager who enjoys creating structure, solving problems, and making a meaningful difference in the daily lives of a busy family.
