Description
The Digital Sector at Leidos has an opening for an experienced Technical Writer Lead for the DISA Defense Red Switch Network in support of an enterprise VoIP management system on the GSM-O II contract at Fort Meade, MD. The successful candidate will have a strong technical writing background, responsible for leading a team that documents and translates highly technical information into clear, readable documents for technical and non-technical personnel. The candidate will support the creation of a variety of media including HTML pages created in markdown, complex technical graphics, Technical Implementation Guides (TIGs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and briefing presentations.
Specifically, you will lead the development, writing, editing, and proofreading of technical manuals and provide overall writing support for the team. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting the support agreement process to include tracking G-Invoicing compliance and monitoring 7600 services. Concurrently, you will manage complex technical documentation, review technical changes, and maintain exceptional communication and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage Complex Artifacts: Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others. Conduct necessary research to support and extend technical content for high-level technical documentation, such as Technical Implementation Guides (TIGs), System Security Plans, and SOPs.
- Information Architecture: Design the structure and navigation of document repositories and HTML pages so that end-users can easily find critical information.
- Document Management: Be involved in the entire documentation lifecycle—drafting, editing, testing, and deployment—while maintaining revision records in compliance with established development lifecycles. Create standardized document templates, drafting shells, and style guides to streamline input from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Quality Assurance & Editing: Edit, clarify, and proofread team artifacts to enforce strict quality standards, ensure proper technical terminology, and maintain consistency across all produced documents.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with systems engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to validate technical content, and design standardized document templates and shells to streamline their inputs. Work on simultaneous complex and competing documentation projects involving other team members and key stakeholders across the organization
- Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI): Harness generative AI technologies to boost team throughput and rapidly develop documentation templates and initial drafts under compressed schedules.
- Monitor Interagency Agreements (IAAs) and Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs), ensuring all government contract support and 7600 services (Form 7600A/B) are accurately tracked within G-Invoicing.
