About the Client:
Our client is a growing international freight forwarding and logistics company specializing in sea freight, cross-border transportation, customs coordination, and multimodal cargo movement across Pakistan and Central Asia.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Executive – Operations with hands-on experience in Sea Freight Import Operations, shipment coordination, freight pricing, and customer handling.
The role offers end-to-end exposure to shipment operations, including rate collection, quotation preparation, shipment execution, vendor invoice verification, and customer invoicing.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and maintain updated freight rates from shipping lines, freight forwarders, transporters, overseas agents, and vendors.
- Assist in preparing shipment cost sheets and competitive quotations.
- Support pricing for sea freight, inland transportation, cross-border trucking, customs, terminal charges, and documentation.
- Handle customer enquiries and quotation follow-ups.
- Support booking conversion through effective communication and coordination.
- Coordinate shipments with shipping lines, overseas agents, freight forwarders, transporters, customs agents, and port-handling vendors.
- Monitor shipment progress from booking and documentation through customs clearance and final delivery.
- Provide customers with accurate shipment updates.
- Identify operational issues and coordinate timely resolutions.
- Verify vendor invoices against approved rates and shipment services.
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Support customer invoicing and shipment closure.
- Maintain accurate operational, costing, and billing records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding/logistics.
- Hands-on experience in Sea Freight Import Operations in Karachi.
- Working knowledge of FCL/LCL shipments, Bills of Lading, import documentation, customs clearance, and port/terminal handling.
- Experience dealing with shipping lines, freight forwarders, transporters, or shipping-line agents.
- Understanding of freight rates, costing, and quotation preparation.
- Experience with shipment documentation, vendor billing, and customer invoicing.
- Strong coordination and customer communication skills.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good command of English and Urdu.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/freight-management system experience is a plus.
Preferred
- Exposure to Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, or Central Asian logistics corridors.
- Experience with multimodal shipments involving sea, road, rail, or cross-border transportation.
- Exposure to major shipping lines or their local agents.
- Ability to manage multiple quotations and shipments within strict timelines.
