The Director, Global Advanced Therapies Planning is responsible for end-to-end global CAR-T planning activities, including Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Inventory Management, and IBP/S&OP. The candidate will lead an international team spanning three J&J Advanced Therapies locations and supporting four cell-processing sites and two lentivirus manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and coach a multi-level team of 30 people, including five direct reports

  • Design and manage critical metrics for the team that drive reliability and accountability

  • Develop a cohesive team culture which motivates team members globally

  • Represent the planning organization on the product Value Chain Team (VCT)

2. Supply Planning

  • Lead Material Requirements Planning (MRP) teams for internal CAR-T manufacturing, lentivirus manufacturing, critical reagents manufacturing, and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs)

  • Collaborate with alliance partner and Strategic Sourcing, coordinate a robust Supplier S&OP process to ensure reliable supply of all raw materials

  • Lead Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Detailed Scheduling (DS) teams for our lentivirus manufacturing sites and critical reagent formulation

  • Enable new country launches through Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and master data set-up

3. Inventory Management

  • Lead all aspects of projection and reporting of gross and net inventory for J&J business planning cycles, including JU, NU, BP, and LRFP

  • Lead efforts to mitigate Slow Moving and Obsolete (SLOB) inventory through agile planning processes

  • Collaborate with Finance to accurately predict and process expired inventory across the manufacturing network

4. Demand Planning + IBP / S&OP

  • Leads and facilitates the monthly IBP Cycle (inclusive of cross company participation) including demand review, supply hand-off, commercial reconciliations, & support for the final allocation strategy amongst the different regions

  • Leads and drives the coordination amongst the cross-functional teams to align on network capacity assumptions

  • Coordinates scenario analyses to interpret impacts of various supply and demand considerations on patient supply

5. End-to-End Planning Process Maturity

  • Drive continuous process improvement efforts across the end-to-end planning space to mature the organization in accordance with internal and external benchmarks

  • Support development and adoption of advanced planning technologies through collection of user requirements for subsequent system enhancements

  • Shape End-to-End Planning roles within team by benchmarking with the larger Innovative Medicine Supply Chain while supporting the unique requirements of autologous cell therapies

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's or equivalent University Degree required;

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience: graduate degree, MBA, or PhD preferred

  • Certifications preferred in APICS and/or Lean/Six Sigma

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in Supply Chain Management

  • Experience within Pharmaceutical, Cell Therapy, Biologics, or other similarly regulated industry

  • Demonstrated leadership of a cross-cultural and cross-functional team, with or without direct authority

  • Strong influencing skills, with the ability to understand issues from multiple viewpoints

  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain and methods of driving continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated experience with one of more of the following processes: inventory management and inventory entitlement, supply chain management, supply planning/master production scheduling, scenario analysis, and/or S&OP/IBP

  • Experience with Supply Chain systems (e.g., SAP S/4, and/or OMP) preferred

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication, and presentation skills

  • Requires up to 15% domestic and/or international travel

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$150,000.00 - $258,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
• Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
• Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
• Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
• Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
• Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
• Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
• Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
• Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
