Job Description:
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Power Platform engineer to design and deliver complex enterprise solutions for clients while helping raise the technical capability of our broader Power Platform team.
This is a hands-on player coach role with significant client delivery responsibility. The Manager will remain deeply involved in solution architecture, software development, troubleshooting, implementation, technical reviews, and client discussions. This is not a primarily administrative or people management position.
The ideal candidate is a software engineer with deep Microsoft Power Platform expertise who can combine low code capabilities with custom development, enterprise architecture, and strong consulting skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a hands-on engineer and technical lead for complex client engagements involving Microsoft Power Platform.
- Design and build enterprise applications using Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, and related Microsoft technologies.
- Develop custom solutions using C#/.NET, JavaScript or TypeScript, plugins, custom APIs, PCF components, custom connectors, Azure Functions, and other extensibility approaches.
- Design scalable Dataverse architectures, including data models, security, integrations, business logic, and performance considerations.
- Integrate Power Platform solutions with Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics 365, SQL, APIs, and other enterprise systems.
- Implement strong ALM practices including source control, solution management, deployment automation, environment strategy, and CI/CD.
- Lead technical discovery sessions and translate business requirements into practical, well-designed solutions.
- Communicate architecture decisions, tradeoffs, risks, estimates, and recommendations clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple engagements and act as an escalation point for complex engineering challenges.
- Establish and promote engineering standards, reusable patterns, code quality expectations, and delivery best practices.
- Mentor engineers and technical leads and help improve engineering quality across the broader team.
- Help teams determine when Power Platform is the right solution and when custom development or other technologies are more appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- 8 or more years of professional software engineering, application development, solution architecture, or related technology experience.
- 4 or more years of substantial hands-on Microsoft Power Platform engineering experience.
- Strong software development experience using C#/.NET and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience extending Power Platform through plugins, custom APIs, PCF components, custom connectors, Azure Functions, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of Dataverse architecture, security, data modeling, integration patterns, solution management, and performance.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrating with enterprise systems.
- Experience with Azure services, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics 365, SQL, and related technologies.
- Strong experience with ALM, source control, deployment automation, managed solutions, and CI/CD.
- Strong understanding of professional software engineering practices including code review, testing, debugging, monitoring, and production support.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery on complex enterprise application projects.
- Strong client facing communication, consulting, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, challenge assumptions, explain tradeoffs, and provide clear recommendations.
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving technical practices across a team.
- Experience working with global clients and distributed delivery teams, including appropriate overlap with US based stakeholders when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power Platform governance, environment strategy, security standards, or Center of Excellence practices.
- Experience with Azure technologies such as Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Key Vault, or Application Insights.
- Experience working in consulting or professional services environments.
- Experience supporting presales, estimation, technical proposals, demonstrations, or workshops.
- Microsoft Power Platform or Azure certifications such as PL 400, PL 600, or related credentials.
What Success Looks Like
Successful engineers in this role remain highly engaged in client delivery while also raising the technical capability of the broader team. They are trusted by clients, comfortable solving difficult engineering problems, able to make sound architecture decisions, and capable of guiding others through complex technical challenges.
They approach Power Platform as an enterprise application development platform and combine its native capabilities with strong software engineering practices to deliver secure, scalable, maintainable solutions.
