Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a CNC Technician- 1st Shift at our Charleston, SC plant! This is a first shift role, with core hours Monday - Friday from 7am - 3pm.
The hourly rate for this position is $35-40 per hour.

## What you’ll do:
Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Complex Machining Technician. This position is based at our North Charleston, SC location.

In this function you will:
- Actively works to evaluate, create, document and train others in current and/or new processes for the department as a whole
- As a Tech you are the first line(step) of the escalation plan
- Follows leader standard work
- Supports department in lean activities including 5’s audits & process checks
- Helps drive change through CIF & daily Kazan’s
- Role model for the department (behavior and production when running product)
- Knows how to set up and change over majority (or at least 75%) of machines in department assigned
- Can trouble shoot and correct program, quality, technical and mechanical issues with machines
- Collaboratively works with the Engineer and Programmer for the department assisting in any changes, updates, new program creations needed, and selecting/testing of new machines in the department.
- Read machine programs and perform program edits under engineering guidance.
- Able to perform other duties as assigned and/or needed in the department
- Perform all functions of the operator role
- Perform all functions of the Setup III role at Fully Trained expertise level:
- Properly set tools in machine locations required for set-up
- Perform part changeover including program retrieval and input
- Effectively us pre-setter arm or tool setter and comp tools
- Calculate and input axis coordinates X, Y and Z or use spindle probe to load offsets
- Establish Z set-up position for sub-spindle
- Change out all tooling and properly build mill tools
- Calibrate pre-setter arm by resetting parameters or tool settler or spindle probe
- Recognize and eliminate machine alarms
- Troubleshoot and eliminate variations that are out of process; i.e. run-out, flatness problems.
- Cross train other employees in machine operations
- Read and understand complex engineering drawings
- Read, understand, and rest machine program codes
- Follow all Eaton safety policies and standards
- Fulfill the requirements of the Quality Policy and Quality Management System
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment adhering to 5S Principles
## Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum 6 years CNC machine setup experience in a manufacturing environment
- This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
- No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area will be considered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years’ experience setting up CNC machines
- Experience using lean or lean tools
- Technical degree in manufacturing, machining, or related field
- Experience leading teams
