Job Description

As an Emergency Department RN, you’ll provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to individuals with a wide range of emergent and complex needs. You’ll work alongside an experienced team of nurses, providers, technicians, and support staff to assess patients, prioritize care, respond to changing conditions, and deliver exceptional outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients throughout the Emergency Department.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational and professional standards.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, safety, compassion, and patient advocacy.
  • Participate in emergency and critical-care interventions appropriate to the patient's needs.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Additional Job Description

Education & Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of one year of Registered Nurse experience required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse license through the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Depending on assignment and position requirements, additional certifications may include:
    • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
    • Crisis Prevention Training
