Rate of Pay: $39.52 / 42 hours a week

Under the direction of the Deputy Fire Chief, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring all emergency communications and dispatching the appropriate emergency personnel. This position serves as a vital link between the citizens of Iqaluit whom require emergency assistance and the appropriate response personnel
Additionally, the incumbent will monitor fire and contract alarm systems, provide information or direct incoming calls to the appropriate City or inter-agency department as well as monitor, log and assist non-emergency dispatch communications within various City Departments.

Sous la direction du chef adjoint des Services des incendies, la ou le titulaire du poste sera chargé de surveiller toutes les communications d’urgence et de dépêcher le personnel d’urgence nécessaire. Ce poste constitue un lien vital entre les citoyennes et citoyens d’Iqaluit qui ont besoin d’une aide d’urgence et le personnel d’intervention.
De plus, la ou le titulaire surveillera les systèmes d’alarme incendie et d’alarme contractuels, fournira des informations ou dirigera les appels entrants vers le service municipal ou interinstitutionnel approprié, et prendra, consignera et assistera les communications de répartition non urgentes au sein de divers services municipaux.

- Expérience en matière de lutte contre les incendies ou d’intervention d’urgence
