HOACNY provides cancer care services, Monday through Friday, day hours at three convenient locations in East Syracuse, Syracuse and Auburn. GU Disease Process Nurse Navigator-Registered Nurse - Monday through Friday (no nights, weekends or holidays)
The Disease Process navigator’s primary function is guiding cancer patients through the health care system by assisting with access issues, developing relationship with physicians and other service providers, tracking interventions and outcomes and quality/data entry. This disease process navigator will have a focus on genitourinary disease processes (prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer) but may expand to include head and neck malignancies and skin malignancies or other specific malignancies based on practice navigation needs.

Requirements
- OCN certification preferred.
- Registered nurse with 3 or more years of experience in oncology or GU nursing setting preferred.
- Medical surgical nursing experience.
- BSN preferred.
- The cancer navigator must have outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills. The individual must possess knowledge of lung, esophageal, stomach, anal and colorectal cancer, treatment modalities, cancer genetics community resources and healthcare structure and function.
