Description
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with development, product, and QA teams to understand project requirements and define comprehensive test strategies.
Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver in Java.
Design, write, and execute detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured manual test plans and test cases.
Perform thorough manual functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
Conduct exploratory testing to uncover defects and usability issues not covered by formal test cases.
Implement and maintain test automation frameworks (e.g., Page Object Model, TestNG/JUnit, Cucumber BDD) to ensure efficient and organized testing.
Execute automated tests, analyze results, and identify defects, working closely with development teams for resolution.
Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) to support agile development practices.
Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, smoke, sanity and integration testing, leveraging automation where appropriate.
Conduct API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger to validate backend services.
Perform database validation by writing and executing SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
Participate in code reviews of test automation scripts to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Provide clear and concise reporting on test progress, defect status, and overall product quality to stakeholders.
Continuously research and implement new testing tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA process.
Contribute to the improvement of overall software quality processes and practices within the team.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong focus on test automation.
Proficient in designing and developing automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver.
Strong programming skills in at least one object-oriented language (e.g., Java, Python, C#).
Experience with test automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, Pytest, NUnit, or similar.
Solid understanding and practical experience with the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern.
Design, write, and execute detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured manual test plans and test cases.
Perform thorough manual functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
Conduct exploratory testing to uncover defects and usability issues not covered by formal test cases.
Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of SQL for database validation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in an agile environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber.
Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
Experience with security testing concepts and tools.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Relevant certifications in Quality Assurance or test automation.
Experience with mobile application test automation.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
Industry certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
