Job Summary:
Fulton County Health Center is seeking a professional, customer-focused Radiology Receptionist to join our Radiology Department. The Radiology Receptionist plays an important role in creating a positive and efficient experience for patients, physicians, ancillary staff, and other customers. This position is responsible for welcoming patients, obtaining and verifying information, preparing radiology studies for interpretation and release, coordinating information with internal departments and provider clinics, and supporting the daily operations of the Radiology office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet all patients, visitors, physicians, staff, and other customers in a professional and courteous manner to initiate a positive radiology experience.
- Receive patients for examinations by obtaining accurate and complete information.
- Prepare studies for interpretation by organizing requisitions, orders, previous imaging, reports, and related materials.
- Validate that physician orders match the scheduled study in Meditech.
- Provide information and assistance to Health Information, Central Registration, the Pre-Service Center, Radiology staff, and provider clinics.
- Handle all telephone communications professionally and efficiently.
- Prepare studies for release to outside facilities, including electronic transfer and CD preparation.
- Complete assigned office duties and follow direction and education provided by the Office Coordinator.
- Collect and compile data for department performance-improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with department staff to maintain compliance with applicable requirements and standards, including ACR, MQSA, OSHA, State of Ohio, NRC, HCFA, Medicare, HIPAA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on training and/or credentials.
- Maintain a professional appearance and consistently demonstrate a commitment to customer service and the safety of patients, visitors, and employees.

Requirements
- Graduate of a college or technical school; Medical Secretarial studies preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Computer literate with word-processing experience.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced office environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work cooperatively with patients, physicians, clinical staff, and other departments.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA and organizational policies.
