Job Summary
The Tax Analyst will report to the Tax Manager, Malaysia with primary responsibility for Malaysia tax compliance and reporting matters. The Tax Analyst will work cross-functionally with business units to support strategic initiatives. This role will include a mix of accounting for income taxes under local and US GAAP, direct and indirect tax compliance, and special project work.Position Overview:
The Tax Analyst will play an important role in supporting the global tax reporting and compliance effort with a fast-paced global medical device organization. This position will be full time onsite at Insulet Malaysia plant.
Job Description:
The Tax Analyst will report to the Tax Manager, Malaysia with primary responsibility for Malaysia tax compliance and reporting matters. The Tax Analyst will work cross-functionally with business units to support strategic initiatives. This role will include a mix of accounting for income taxes under local and US GAAP, direct and indirect tax compliance, and special project work.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the calculation, filing and payment of all Malaysia and Singapore tax payments, including estimates, the annual tax return and withholding tax obligations.
- Prepare Malaysia indirect tax filings on a monthly basis.
- Manage the APAC tax compliance calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with tax team and with external advisors.
- Assist in the preparation of MIDA annual compliance report to maintain tax incentive.
- Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual tax provisions for Malaysia in accordance with Local and US GAAP.
- Assist with cross-border transactions, including transfer pricing documentation.
- Assist with Malaysia tax audits and respond to tax notices.
- Maintain and improve all tax-related compliance and business processes.
- Research tax issues and draft memorandum, as required.
- Prepare tax analyses, analytical support, and other assistance with special projects as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation or related discipline.
- Minimum Experience: 2-3 years of relevant tax experience in a Malaysia corporate tax, public accounting firm, shared service, or an in-house multinational environment.
- Experience with corporate tax compliance, withholding tax, service tax/ imported taxable services, tax provisions, reconciliations and working with external tax advisors is preferred.

- Self-motivated – able to work both individually and as a member of a team
- Confident in speaking up
- Experience with tax-based research tools
- Strong technology skills required including AI knowledge with SAP a plus
